Mumbai rains | August 2017
The commercial capital of India, Mumbai, which is known for its speed, a city which never stops. However, today due to heavy rainfall in many regions of Mumbai , Mumbai has come to a standstill. Mumbai has become paralysed.  So today, when I was in my college and the teacher was conducting regular lectures, there was a sudden announcement that the college has to be closed due to heavy rainfall ( also because my college is few distance apart from the beach, so there were chances of high tides ).

As soon as we came out of the campus, we saw there was a huge traffic jam. We usually take auto to reach station and then reach our home. Usually, it takes 18 rupees to reach the station but today due to heavy rains, the auto drivers were demanding 200 rupees. Also, there was no bus which we could see coming because of the huge traffic jam. There was no option left so me and my friends decided to reach station by walking.

So umbrella in one hand and the heavy bag in front of the chest ,we started walking. And oh my god, it was terrible, water was logged . water was till our knees and it was so difficult to walk in this situation where you need to predict that the next step we take, there would be no puddle or pothole. The umbrella was of no use. Eventually, my clothes, hair, bag all got wet. There was huge traffic jam flowing besides us. And whenever there was any vehicle which passed by our side, there was a huge ripple coming our way and we were like "oh my god , now what".Slowly and steadily we walked through this, taking breaks in between ( because the legs got tired because of walking through the knee length water).

As soon as we reached the railway station, we saw that the trains are not arriving at the platforms, we waited ,waited and waited carrying those heavy bags. After one hour, there came a Virar local which so so crowded, still people literally climbed and balanced their whole bodies and bags on that one foot and one little space in which they could accommodate. (FOR NON MUMBAIKARS Don't get horrified, it happens daily in Mumbai ).As usual, we didn't even try to get into Virar local because it is next to impossible ( especially in this situation because the crowd on the platforms was increasing at a rapid rate due to heavy rainfalls and there was no place to move on the platform ).

Eventually, after two damn hours , there came Borivali train and the crowd just broke into the train, pushing each other, Luckily we got into the train. After an hour I am here at my home, relaxing and writing this blog. (And still the rain hasn't stopped. ) #mumbairains

PS - I managed to click one picture in all this chaos. (don't judge me for this 😅😅🙈🙈)
