Try to keep a subtle background so that the viewers
view is not distracted. The main focus of the portraits is obviously the
subject most importantly the face. So take care of this thing.

Try to use props to get a good photo.

5 Highlight eyes
Eyes is the most important part of the photo where viewers’
attention goes first. Thus it is very essential that compared to the rest of
the portrait, the subject’s eyes are more prominent.

6 Good framing
Use rule of thirds or place the subject in the side.
Avoid placing the subject in the center. It is not a hard and fast rule and if
you want to break the rule, Go ahead!
7 Make your subject at ease
Make your subject at ease is very essential to get a
perfect candid shot.
8 Add drama
Give a dramatic look to the picture.
This is done mostly in street photography portraits.
