His voice had never sounded so cold
He never knew,
this way, death will unfold.
His mother was
no more
Hurriedly, he
came and opened the bedroom’s door.
She was
motionless, lying on the bed
His eyes
flooded with tears and dread.
I could hear
his weeping on the phone
I rushed,
frightened as he was alone.
He had sat in
the corner of the bedroom
distressed
with the untimely doom.
I realized,
she had died of heart attack
He cried and
shouted “Oh Jesus, Can I get her back?”
I never saw
him so weak
I wanted to
console him but I didn’t know what to speak?
Few hours
later, we were in the cemetery
Then came the
final time to bury
Unnerved, he
stood beside her body
He cried
bitterly and shouted “Oh Mommy !”
